World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth: Richard Fisher - The Economic Landscape in 2010

As we begin 2010, most economists are cautiously optimistic that the year will bring slight improvements in consumer confidence and investing. However, with the official unemployment rate still at 10 percent, some analysts believe that the country may have a long road to full recovery. So far, Texas has faired better than most states due to stable home prices and an attractive business climate, but will the Lone Star State continue to lead the nation out of the recession? What are the challenges facing the United States and Texas to sustain economic growth? Richard Fisher, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, will speak on the economic landscape in 2010 and what we should expect from the year ahead. Cost: $45-$70.
