Festival of Independent Theatres
The 2010 12th Annual Festival of Independent Theatres (FIT) promises an array of theatrical delights and surprises. Including, for the first time ever, a FIT musical featuring incomparable theater and cabaret star Denise Lee; an imaginative retelling of the classic Alice in Wonderland; a cast of young Upstarts; a new piece from the imaginative minds of Jeff Schmidt and Lydia Mackay; and the companion piece to last year's smash hit, Under a Texaco Canopy. Eight independent theater companies will present a variety of productions, including four world premiers and five regional premiers. This year's line-up includes festival founding companies Echo Theatre and WingSpan Theatre Company, as well as festival favorites The Drama Club, Second Thought Theatre, One Thirty Productions and White Rock Pollution. Making their FIT debuts are the newly formed McClarey Players and Churchmouse Productions (Pegasus Theatre's non-black and white arm).
